Chapter 65: Viśvāmitra Becomes a Brahmarṣi
Text 1.65.17

ततः सुरगणाः सर्वे पितामहपुरोगमाः।
विश्वामित्रं महात्मानं वाक्यं मधुरमब्रुवन्।
ब्रह्मर्षे स्वागतं तेऽस्तु तपसा स्म सुतोषिताः॥

tataḥ sura-gaṇāḥ sarve pitāmaha-purogamāḥ
viśvāmitraṁ
mahātmānaṁ vākyaṁ madhuram abruvan
brahma-rṣe
svāgataṁ te ‘stu tapasā sma sutoṣitāḥ

tataḥ = after they requested Lord Brahmā; sura-gaṇāḥ = the demigods; sarve = all; pitāmaha-purogamāḥ = headed by Grandfather Brahmā; viśvāmitram = Viśvāmitra; mahā-ātmānam = to the great soul; vākyam = words; madhuram = sweet; abruvan = spoke; brahma-rṣe = O brahmarṣi; svāgatam te astu = welcome; tapasā = by your austerities; sma sutoṣitāḥ = we are very satisfied.

After they requested Lord Brahmā, all the demigods headed by Grandfather Brahmā spoke sweet words to the great soul Viśvāmitra: O brahmarṣi, welcome. We are very satisfied by your austerities.
