Text 1.66.10

यस्माद्भागार्थिनो भागान्नाकल्पयत मे सुराः।
वराङ्गानि महार्हणि धनुषा शातयामि वः॥

yasmād bhāgārthino bhāgān nākalpayata me surāḥ
varāṅgāni
mahārhaṇi dhanuṣā śātayāmi vaḥ

yasmāt = because; bhāga-arthinaḥ bhāgān na akalpayata me = you have denied me the shares of the sacrificial offerings I deserve; surāḥ = O demigods; vara-aṅgāni = heads; mahā-arhāṇi = greatly valuable; dhanuṣā = with my bow; śātayāmi = I will cut off; vaḥ = your.

O demigods, I will cut off your greatly valuable heads with my bow because you have denied me the shares of the sacrificial offerings I deserve.

Lord Śiva deserved the shares of sacrificial offerings during the Agni Sviṣṭakṛt and other sacrifices.1

1 The Agni Sviṣṭakṛt is a sacrifice mentioned in the Sāṅkhyāyana Śrauta-sūtra of the Ṛg Veda.
