Chapter 66: The History of Lord Śiva’s bow
Text 1.66.25
ततो भग्ना नृपतयो हन्यमाना दिशो ययुः।
अवीर्या वीर्यसन्दिग्धाः सामात्याः पापकर्मणः॥
tato bhagnā nṛ-patayo hanyamānā diśo yayuḥ
avīryā vīrya-sandigdhāḥ sāmātyāḥ pāpa-karmaṇaḥ
tataḥ = then; bhagnāḥ = they broke down; nṛ-patayaḥ = those kings; hanyamānāḥ = while were being destroyed; diśaḥ = in all directions; yayuḥ = and fled; avīryāḥ = either had no strength; vīrya-sandigdhāḥ = or were doubtful of their strength; sa-amātyāḥ = with their ministers; pāpa-karmaṇaḥ = those kings of sinful activities.
Then, while those kings were being destroyed, they broke down and fled in all directions with their ministers. Those kings of sinful activities either had no strength or were doubtful of their strength.
