Chapter 69: Daśaratha Reaches Mithilā
Text 1.69.7
वचनात्तु नरेन्द्रस्य सा सेना चतुरङ्गिणी।
राजानमृषिभिः सार्धं व्रजन्तं पृष्ठतोऽन्वगात्॥
vacanāt tu narendrasya sā senā catur-aṅgiṇī
rājānam ṛṣibhiḥ sārdhaṁ vrajantaṁ pṛṣṭhato ‘nvagāt
vacanāt tu = on the order; nara-indrasya = of the king; sā = the; senā = of his army; catuḥ-aṅgiṇī = four divisions; rājānam = the king; ṛṣibhiḥ sārdham = with the sages; vrajantam = who was going; pṛṣṭhataḥ = behind; anvagāt = followed.
On the order of the king, the four divisions of his army followed behind the king who was going with the sages.
