Chapter 73: The Grand Wedding of Sītā and Rāma
Text 1.73.16
श्रुतकौतुकसर्वस्वा वेदिमूलमुपागताः।
मम कन्या मुनिश्रेष्ठ दीप्ता वह्नेरिवार्चिषः॥
śruta-kautuka-sarvasvā vedi-mūlam upāgatāḥ
mama kanyā muni-śreṣṭha dīptā vahner ivārciṣaḥ
śruta-kautuka-sarvasvāḥ = having performed all auspicious rituals required for the wedding; vedi-mūlam = near the wedding platform; upāgatāḥ = the bridegrooms have arrived; mama = my; kanyāḥ = daughters; muni-śreṣṭha = O best of sages; dīptāḥ = are shining; vahneḥ = of fire; iva = like; arciṣaḥ = the bright flames.
O best of sages, the bridegrooms have arrived near the wedding platform, having performed all auspicious rituals required for the wedding. My daughters are shining like the bright flames of fire.
