Chapter 73: The Grand Wedding of Sītā and Rāma
Text 1.73.18
तद्वाक्यं जनकेनोक्तं श्रुत्वा दशरथस्तदा।
प्रवेशयामास सुतान्सर्वानृषिगणानपि॥
tad vākyaṁ janakenoktaṁ śrutvā daśarathas tadā
praveśayām āsa sutān sarvān ṛṣi-gaṇān api
tad vākyam = those words; janakena uktam = spoken by Janaka; śrutvā = hearing; daśarathaḥ tadā = Daśaratha; praveśayām āsa = had entered the wedding platform; sutān = his sons; sarvān ṛṣi-gaṇān api = and all the ṛṣis.
Hearing those words spoken by Janaka, Daśaratha had his sons and all the ṛṣis enter the wedding platform.
Janaka’s words addressed to Daśaratha (texts 15-17) were conveyed to him by a person sent by Vasiṣṭha. Daśaratha entered the wedding platform upon hearing those words.
