ततः सीतां समानीय सर्वाभरणभूषिताम्।
पद्मां पद्मवियुक्तां वै केशवाङ्कच्युताम् इव।
विद्युत्प्रभां विशालाक्षीं स्निग्धकुञ्चितमूर्धजाम्॥
हंसाङ्कितेन क्षौमेण किञ्चित्पीतेन संवृताम्।
वासितेनोत्तरीयेण सुरक्तेन सुसंवृताम्॥
समक्षमग्नेः संस्थाप्य राघवाभिमुखे तदा।
अब्रवीज्जनको राजा कौसल्यानन्दवर्धनम्॥
tataḥ sītāṁ samānīya sarvābharaṇa-bhūṣitām
padmāṁ padma-viyuktāṁ vai keśavāṅka-cyutām iva
vidyut-prabhāṁ viśālākṣīṁ snigdha-kuñcita-mūrdhajām
haṁsāṅkitena kṣaumeṇa kiñcit pītena saṁvṛtām
vāsitenottarīyeṇa suraktena susaṁvṛtām
samakṣam agneḥ saṁsthāpya rāghavābhimukhe tadā
abravīj janako rājā kausalyānanda-vardhanam
tataḥ = then; sītām = Sītā-devī; samānīya = brought and; sarva-abharaṇa-bhūṣitām = she was fully decorated with ornaments; padmām = and appeared to be like Padmā; padma-viyuktām vai = without her lotus; keśavāṅka-cyutām iva = having fallen off the lap of Lord Keśava; vidyut-prabhām = her complexion was that of the lightning; viśāla-akṣīm = her eyes were elongated; snigdha-kuñcita-mūrdhajām = and her hair was soft and curly; haṁsa-aṅkitena = painted with swans; kṣaumeṇa = silk garment; kiñcit = slightly; pītena = yellowish; saṁvṛtām = she wore; vāsitena = with a perfumed; uttarīyeṇa suraktena = deep red upper cloth; susaṁvṛtām = and the upper part of her body was well covered; samakṣam = in front; agneḥ = of the sacred fire; saṁsthāpya = placed; rāghava-abhimukhe tadā = facing Rāghava; abravīt = spoke; janakaḥ rājā = King Janaka; kausalyā-ānanda-vardhanam = to Rāma who increases the happiness of Kausalyā.
King Janaka then brought Sītā-devī and placed her in front of the sacred fire, facing Rāghava. She was fully decorated with ornaments and appeared to be like Padmā without her lotus, having fallen off the lap of Lord Keśava. Her complexion was that of the lightning. Her eyes were elongated, and her hair was soft and curly. She wore a slightly yellowish silk garment painted with swans and the upper part of her body was well covered with a perfumed deep red upper cloth. King Janaka spoke to Rāma who increases the happiness of Kausalyā.
