Chapter 74: The Arrival of Paraśurāma
Text 1.74.14

उपस्थितं भयं घोरं दिव्यं पक्षिमुखाच्च्युतम्।
मृगाः प्रशमयन्त्येते सन्तापस्त्यज्यतामयम्॥

upasthitaṁ bhayaṁ ghoraṁ divyaṁ pakṣi-mukhāc cyutam
mṛgāḥ
praśamayanty ete santāpas tyajyatām ayam

upasthitam = has arrived; bhayam = cause of fear; ghoram = terrible; divyam = a celestial; pakṣi-mukhāt cyutam = as indicated by the sounds of the birds; mṛgāḥ = deer; praśamayanti = indicate that it will be pacified; ete = [but] these; santāpaḥ = anxiety of yours; tyajyatām = give up; ayam = this.

A celestial terrible cause of fear has arrived, as indicated by the sounds of the birds. [But] these deer indicate that it will be pacified. Give up this anxiety of yours.
