वधमप्रतिरूपं तु पितुः श्रुत्वा सुदारुणम्।
अमर्षो मे महानासीत्सर्वलोकभयप्रदः।
शास्त्रतोऽग्निर्हुतो विप्रैर्यथा हुतमुखे प्रभुः॥
vadham apratirūpaṁ tu pituḥ śrutvā sudāruṇam
amarṣo me mahān āsīt sarva-loka-bhayapradaḥ
śāstrato ’gnir huto viprair yathā huta-mukhe prabhuḥ
vadham = the slaughter; apratirūpam tu = that was incomparable; pituḥ = of my father; śrutvā = hearing; sudāruṇam = in extreme terror; amarṣaḥ = anger; me = in me; mahān = great; āsīt = developed; sarva-loka-bhayapradaḥ = that made all the worlds frightened; śāstrataḥ = according to the scriptures; agniḥ = fire; hutaḥ = appears; vipraiḥ = conducted by the brāhmaṇas; yathā = just as; huta-mukhe = at the beginning of a sacrifice; prabhuḥ = powerful.
Hearing the slaughter of my father that was incomparable in extreme terror, great anger that made all the worlds frightened developed in me just as powerful fire appears at the beginning of a sacrifice conducted by the brāhmaṇas according to the scriptures.
