Unable to control that anger, I carried that excellent, auspicious bow and out of my fury destroyed the kṣatriya class several times when they were repeatedly born. Having attained the entire earth, O Rāma, at the end of a sacrifice, I gave it as a gift to the great soul of pious activities, Kaśyapa. Since then, endowed with the strength of austerity, I accepted the Mahendra Mountain as my residence. I settled there while very happily performing austerities in that place resorted to by the demigods.

Lord Paraśurāma killed the kṣatriya community twenty-one times.
