श्रुत्वा दशरथस्यैतद्भरतः कैकयीसुतः।
अभिवाद्य गुरुं रामं परिष्वज्य च लक्ष्मणम्।
गमनायाभिचक्राम शत्रुघ्नसहितस्तदा॥
śrutvā daśarathasyaitad bharataḥ kaikayī-sutaḥ
abhivādya guruṁ rāmaṁ pariṣvajya ca lakṣmaṇam
gamanāyābhicakrāma śatrughna-sahitas tadā
śrutvā = hearing; daśarathasya = of Daśaratha; etat = these words; bharataḥ = Bharata; kaikayī-sutaḥ = the son of Kaikeyī; abhivādya = offered His respectful obeisances; gurum = unto His authority; rāmam = Rāma; pariṣvajya ca = embraced; lakṣmaṇam = Lakṣmaṇa; gamanāya = to go; abhicakrāma = and prepared; śatrughna-sahitaḥ tadā = with Śatrughna.
Hearing these words of Daśaratha, Bharata, the son of Kaikeyī, offered His respectful obeisances unto His authority Rāma, embraced Lakṣmaṇa and prepared to go with Śatrughna.
