Chapter 8: Daśaratha Decides to Perform the Aśvamedha Sacrifice
Text 1.8.19
तथेति चाब्रुवन्सर्वे मन्त्रिणः प्रत्यपूजयन्।
पार्थिवेन्द्रस्य तद्वाक्यं यथाज्ञप्तं निशम्य ते॥
tatheti cābruvan sarve mantriṇaḥ pratyapūjayan
pārthivendrasya tad vākyaṁ yathājñaptaṁ niśamya te
tathā = we will do; iti ca abruvan = told him; sarve = all; mantriṇaḥ = ministers; pratyapūjayan = and honoring him; pārthiva-indrasya = of the king; tat = those; vākyam = words; yathā-ājñaptam = as you have ordered us; niśamya = hearing; te = of those.
Hearing those words of the king and honoring him, all of those ministers told him, “We will do as you have ordered us.”
They honored him by saying that the decision of the Mahārāja was good.
