Chapter 8: Daśaratha Decides to Perform the Aśvamedha Sacrifice

इत्युक्त्वा नृपशार्दूलः सचिवान्समुपस्थितान्।
विसर्जयित्वा स्वं वेश्म प्रविवेश महाद्युतिः॥
ity uktvā nṛpa-śārdūlaḥ sacivān samupasthitān
visarjayitvā svaṁ veśma praviveśa mahā-dyutiḥ
iti = this; uktvā = having said; nṛpa-śārdūlaḥ = tiger among kings; sacivān = secretaries and; samupasthitān = his assembled; visarjayitvā = dismissed; svam = his; veśma = home; praviveśa = entered; mahā-dyutiḥ = the greatly splendorous.
Having said this, the greatly splendorous tiger among kings dismissed his assembled secretaries and entered his home.
Mahā-dyutiḥ (“greatly splendorous”) indicates his abundant happiness.
