Text 1.8.5-6

tataḥ sumantras tvaritaṁ gatvā tvarita-vikramaḥ
samānayat sa tān sarvān samastān veda-pāragān

suyajñaṁ vāmadevaṁ ca jābālim atha kāśyapam
purohitaṁ vasiṣṭhaṁ ca ye cānye dvija-sattamāḥ

tataḥ = then; sumantraḥ = Sumantra; tvaritam = immediately; gatvā = went to them and; tvarita-vikramaḥ = and quickly; samānayat saḥ = called [to the king’s palace]; tān = of those; sarvān = all; samastān = together; veda-pāragān = profound scholars of the Vedas; suyajñam = Suyajña; vāmadevam ca = Vāmadeva; jābālim atha = Jābāli; kāśyapam = Kāśyapa; purohitam = the priest; vasiṣṭham ca = Vasiṣṭha; ye ca anye = as well as other; dvija-sattamāḥ = best of the twiceborn.

Then, Sumantra immediately and quickly went to them and called all of those profound scholars of the Vedas—Suyajña, Vāmadeva, Jābāli, Kāśyapa, the priest Vasiṣṭha as well as other best of the twiceborn—together to the king’s palace.

Daśaratha’s gurus are enlisted here. He considered them his gurus since they were to become the officiating priests of the sacrifice he desired to perform.
