Chapter 9: Conversation Between Sumantra and Daśaratha
Text 1.9.18
ऋश्यशृङ्गस्तु जामाता पुत्रांस्तव विधास्यति।
सनत्कुमारकथितमेतावद्व्याहृतं मया॥
ṛśyaśṛṅgas tu jāmātā putrāṁs tava vidhāsyati
sanat-kumāra-kathitam etāvad vyāhṛtaṁ mayā
ṛśyaśṛṅgaḥ tu = Ṛśyaśṛṅga; jāmātā = your son-in-law; putrān = get sons; tava = you; vidhāsyati = will help; sanat-kumāra-kathitam etāvat = Sanat-kumāra spoke this; vyāhṛtam = have related it to you; mayā = and I.
Your son-in-law Ṛśyaśṛṅga will help you get sons. Sanat-kumāra spoke this and I have related it to you.
Ṛśyaśṛṅga is the son-in-law of Romapāda and Daśaratha too for Śāntā was Daśaratha’s seminal daughter given to Romapāda in adoption.
