Chapter 9: Conversation Between Sumantra and Daśaratha

एतस्मिन्कले तु रोमपादः प्रतापवान्।
अङ्गेषु प्रथितो राजा भविष्यति महाबलः॥
etasmin kale tu romapādaḥ pratāpavān
aṅgeṣu prathito rājā bhaviṣyati mahā-balaḥ
etasmin = at that; kale tu = time; romapādaḥ = Romapāda; pratāpavān = the powerful; aṅgeṣu = of Aṅga; prathitaḥ = famous; rājā = as the king; bhaviṣyati = will be; mahā-balaḥ = of great strength.
At that time, the powerful Romapāda of great strength will be famous as the king of Aṅga.
“At that time” refers to the time when Ṛśyaśṛṅga was in the first phase of brahmacarya. Aṅga is a country.
