Chapter 4: Daśaratha’s Anxiety About Coronating Rāma
Text 2.4.16
अद्य प्रकृतयः सर्वास्त्वामिच्छन्ति नराधिपम्।
अतस्त्वां युवराजानमभिषेक्ष्यामि पुत्रक॥
adya prakṛtayaḥ sarvās tvām icchanti narādhipam
atas tvāṁ yuva-rājānam abhiṣekṣyāmi putraka
adya = now; prakṛtayaḥ = the citizens; sarvāḥ = all; tvām = You; icchanti = want; nara-adhipam = as the king; ataḥ = so; tvām = You; yuva-rājānam = as the crown prince; abhiṣekṣyāmi = I will coronate; putraka = my child.
My child, all the citizens now want You as the king. So, I will coronate You as the crown prince.
