Chapter 4: Daśaratha’s Anxiety About Coronating Rāma
Text 2.4.26
कामं खलु सतां वृत्ते भ्राता ते भरतः स्थितः।
ज्येष्ठानुवर्ती धर्मात्मा सानुक्रोशो जितेन्द्रियः॥
kāmaṁ khalu satāṁ vṛtte bhrātā te bharataḥ sthitaḥ
jyeṣṭhānuvartī dharmātmā sānukrośo jitendriyaḥ
kāmam = of course; khalu = is certainly; satām = of the saintly; vṛtte = in the behavior; bhrātā = brother; te = Your; bharataḥ = Bharata; sthitaḥ = fixed up; jyeṣṭha-anuvartī = He follows His elders; dharma-ātmā = His mind is fixed on dharma; sa-anukrośaḥ = He is compassionate; jita-indriyaḥ = and His senses are under His control.
Of course, Your brother Bharata is certainly fixed up in the behavior of the saintly. He follows His elders, His mind is fixed on dharma, He is compassionate and His senses under His control.
