Chapter 7: Mantharā Instructs Kaikeyī to Stop the Coronation
Text 2.7.13
सा दह्यमाना कोपेन मन्थरा पापदर्शिनी।
शयानामेत्य कैकेयीमिदं वचनमब्रवीत्॥
sā dahyamānā kopena mantharā pāpa-darśinī
śayānām etya kaikeyīm idaṁ vacanam abravīt
sā dahyamānā = burning; kopena = in anger; mantharā = Mantharā; pāpa-darśinī = who showed the path to sin; śayānām = who was lying down; etya = came and; kaikeyīm = to Kaikeyī; idam = the following; vacanam = words; abravīt = spoke.
Burning in anger, Mantharā who showed the path to sin, came to Kaikeyī who was lying down, and spoke the following words.
