Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 7: Mantharā Instructs Kaikeyī to Stop the Coronation
Text 2.7.34

इदं तु मन्थरे मह्यमाख्यासि परमं प्रियम्।
एतन्मे प्रियमाख्यातुः किं वा भूयः करोमि ते॥

idaṁ tu manthare mahyam ākhyāsi paramaṁ priyam
etan me priyam ākhyātuḥ kiṁ vā bhūyaḥ karomi te

idam tu = that which is; manthare = Mantharā; mahyam = to me; ākhyāsi = you are speaking; paramam = most; priyam = pleasing; etat = this; me = me; priyam = pleasant news; ākhyātuḥ = who tell; kim = what; bhūyaḥ = more; karomi = can I do; te = to you.

Mantharā, you are speaking that which is most pleasing to me. What more can I do to you who tell me this pleasant news?

Sometimes ākhyātam is found instead of ākhyātuḥ. [The meaning is the same.]

Anticipating that Mantharā might ask, “How is it that you have so much love for your co-wife’s son?” Kaikeyī speaks the next verse.
