Chapter 12: Kaikeyī Reaffirms her Demands
Text 2.12.107
विनापि सूर्येण भवेत्प्रवृत्तिरवर्षता वज्रधरेण वापि।
रामं तु गच्छन्तमितः समीक्ष्य जीवेन्न कश्चित्त्विति चेतना मे॥
vināpi sūryeṇa bhavet pravṛttir
avarṣatā vajradhareṇa vāpi
rāmaṁ tu gacchantam itaḥ samīkṣya
jīven na kaścit tv iti cetanā me
vinā = without; api = though; sūryeṇa = the sun; bhavet = one could; pravṛttiḥ = function; avarṣatā vajradhareṇa = the rain-giving Indra; vā api = or; rāmam tu = Rāma; gacchantam = depart; itaḥ = from here; samīkṣya = seeing; jīvet = would be able to live; na kaścit tu = nobody; iti = that; cetanā me = I think.
I think that though one could function without the sun or the rain-giving Indra, seeing Rāma depart from here, nobody would be able to live.
