उदिते विमले सूर्ये पुष्ये चाभ्यागतेऽहनि।
लग्ने कर्कटके प्राप्ते जन्म रामस्य च स्थिते।
अभिषेकाय रामस्य द्विजेन्द्ररुपकल्पितम्॥
udite vimale sūrye puṣye cābhyāgate ’hani
lagne karkaṭake prāpte janma rāmasya ca sthite
abhiṣekāya rāmasya dvijendrair upakalpitam
udite = had risen; vimale = when the spotless; sūrye = sun; puṣye ca = when the nakṣatra Puṣya; abhyāgate = had appeared; ahani = that day; lagne karkaṭake = when the Karkaṭa-lagna (Cancer); prāpte = had arrived; janma = was born; rāmasya = Rāma; ca = and; sthite = in which; abhiṣekāya = coronation; rāmasya = for Rāma’s; dvija-indraiḥ = with the brāhmaṇas; upakalpitam = the ingredients were ready.
When the spotless sun had risen, when the nakṣatra Puṣya had appeared on that day and when the Karkaṭa-lagna (Cancer) in which Rāma was born had arrived, the ingredients were ready with the brāhmaṇas for Rāma’s coronation.
