Chapter 18: Kaikeyī Informs Rāma About the two Boons
Text 2.18.8
चिन्तयामास च तदा रामः पितृहिते रतः।
किं स्विदद्यैव नृपतिर्न मां प्रत्यभिनन्दति॥
cintayām āsa ca tadā rāmaḥ pitṛ-hite rataḥ
kiṁ svid adyaiva nṛ-patir na māṁ praty abhinandati
cintayām āsa ca = thought; tadā = then; rāmaḥ = Rāma; pitṛ-hite = in the good of His father; rataḥ = absorbed; kim svit = is; adya eva = today; nṛ-patiḥ = the king; na mām prati abhinandati = unhappy with Me.
Absorbed in the good of His father, Rāma then thought, “Is the king unhappy with Me today?
