Chapter 18: Kaikeyī Informs Rāma About the two Boons
Text 2.18.26
यदि त्वभिहितं राज्ञा त्वयि तन्न विपत्स्यते।
ततोऽहमभिधास्यामि न ह्येष त्वयि वक्ष्यति॥
yadi tv abhihitaṁ rājñā tvayi tan na vipatsyate
tato ’ham abhidhāsyāmi na hy eṣa tvayi vakṣyati
yadi tu = if; abhihitam = promise [to me]; rājñā = king’s; tvayi = through You; tat = the; na = not; vipatsyate = does become fruitless; tataḥ aham = I; abhidhāsyāmi = will describe it; na hi = never; eṣaḥ = he; tvayi = to You [about it]; vakṣyati = will talk.
If the king’s promise [to me] does not become fruitless through You, I will describe it. He will never talk to You [about it].
