Chapter 19: Rāma Promises to Leave for the Forest
Text 2.19.36
सर्वो ह्यभिजनः श्रीमान्श्रीमतः सत्यवादिनः।
नालक्षयत रामस्य किञ्चिदाकारमानने॥
sarvo hy abhijanaḥ śrīmāñ śrīmataḥ satya-vādinaḥ
nālakṣayata rāmasya kiñcid ākāram ānane
sarvaḥ hi abhijanaḥ = relatives; śrīmān = decorated; śrīmataḥ = of the handsome; satya-vādinaḥ = and truthful; na = none of the; alakṣayata = could detect; rāmasya = Rāma; kiñcit = any change; ākāram ānane = in His facial expression.
None of the decorated relatives of the handsome and truthful Rāma could detect any change in His facial expression.
Rāma’s relatives had decorated themselves for His coronation.
