Chapter 19: Rāma Promises to Leave for the Forest
Text 2.19.38
वाचा मधुरया रामः सर्वं संमानयञ्जनम्।
मातुः समीपं धीरात्मा प्रविवेश महायशाः॥
vācā madhurayā rāmaḥ sarvaṁ sammānayañ janam
mātuḥ samīpaṁ dhīrātmā praviveśa mahā-yaśāḥ
vācā = words; madhurayā = with sweet; rāmaḥ = Śrī Rāma; sarvam = everyone; sammānayan = honored and; janam1 mātuḥ = [the residence] of His mother; samīpam2 dhīra-ātmā = and a steady mind; praviveśa = approached; mahā-yaśāḥ = of great fame.
Śrī Rāma of great fame and a steady mind honored everyone with sweet words and approached [the residence] of His mother.
