स मातरमभिक्रान्तामुपसङ्गृह्य राघवः।
पर्यष्वजत धर्मात्मा मात्रा चैव परन्तपः।
परिष्वक्तश्च बाहुभ्यामुपाघ्रातश्च मूर्धनि।।
sa mātaram abhikrāntām upasaṅgṛhya rāghavaḥ
paryaṣvajata dharmātmā mātrā caiva parantapaḥ
pariṣvaktaś ca bāhubhyām upāghrātaś ca mūrdhani
saḥ = the; mātaram = unto His mother; abhikrāntām = who rushed to Him; upasaṅgṛhya = offered His obeisances and then; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava; paryaṣvajata = embraced her; dharma-ātmā = and who had a mind devoted to dharma; mātrā ca eva = His mother then; parantapaḥ = scorcher of His enemies; pariṣvaktaḥ ca = embraced Him; bāhubhyām = with her arms; upāghrātaḥ = smelt; ca = and; mūrdhani = His head.
Rāghava, the scorcher of His enemies and who had a mind devoted to dharma, offered His obeisances unto His mother who rushed to Him and then embraced her. His mother then embraced Him with her arms and smelt His head.
