Chapter 22: Rāma Instructs Lakṣmaṇa
Text 2.22.14

बुद्धिः प्रणीता येनेयं मनश्च सुसमाहितम्।
तं तु नार्हामि सङ्क्लेष्टुं प्रव्रजिष्यामि मा चिरम्॥

buddhiḥ praṇītā yeneyaṁ manaś ca susamāhitam
taṁ tu nārhāmi saṅkleṣṭuṁ pravrajiṣyāmi mā ciram

buddhiḥ praṇītā yena iyam = for I have convinced Myself of this idea of residing in the forest; manaḥ = My mind; ca = and; susamāhitam = stabilized; tam tu = Myself too; na = not; arhāmi = I should; saṅkleṣṭum = distress; pravrajiṣyāmi = so I will depart; ciram = let there be no delay.

I should not distress Myself too, for I have convinced Myself of this idea of residing in the forest and stabilized My mind. So I will depart. Let there be no delay.1


 

1 Rāmāyaṇa-bhūṣaṇa: yena mayā iyaṁ buddhiḥ vana-vāsa-buddhiḥ. praṇītā śikṣitā. manaś ca susamāhitaṁ sthirīkṛtam. taṁ māṁ saṅkleṣṭuṁ kleśayitum. nārhā kṛtāntaḥ tu eva saumitre draṣṭavyaḥ mat-pravāsane rājyasya ca vitīrṇasya punaḥ eva nivartanemi. ataḥ pravrajiṣyāmi. mā ciraṁ māstu vilambaḥ.
