Chapter 22: Rāma Instructs Lakṣmaṇa
Text 2.22.18
सोऽभिषेकनिवृत्त्यर्थैः प्रवासार्थैश्च दुर्वचैः।
उग्रैर्वाक्यैरहं तस्या नान्यद्दैवात्समर्थये॥
so ’bhiṣeka-nivṛtty-arthaiḥ pravāsārthaiś ca durvacaiḥ
ugrair vākyair ahaṁ tasyā nānyad daivāt samarthaye
saḥ1 abhiṣeka-nivṛtti-arthaiḥ = to stop My coronation; pravāsa-arthaiḥ = banish Me; ca = and; durvacaiḥ = terrible; ugraiḥ = and harsh; vākyaiḥ = words; aham = I; tasyāḥ = for her; na = cannot; anyat = any; daivāt = other than providence; samarthaye = ascertain cause.
I cannot ascertain any cause other than providence for her terrible and harsh words to stop My coronation and banish Me.

Saḥ indicates that Rāma has experienced Kaikeyī’s affection [in the past].
