भर्तुः शुश्रूषया नारी लभते स्वर्गमुत्तमम्।
अपि या निर्नमस्कारा निवृत्ता देवपूजनात्॥
bhartuḥ śuśrūṣayā nārī labhate svargam uttamam
api yā nirnamaskārā nivṛttā deva-pūjanāt
bhartuḥ = to her husband; śuśrūṣayā = by menial service; nārī = a woman; labhate = attains; svargam = heaven; uttamam = the highest; api yā = even if; nirnamaskārā = she does not offer obeisances to the brāhmaṇas and other superiors; nivṛttā = and abstains; deva-pūjanāt = from worshiping the demigods.
By menial service to her husband, a woman attains the highest heaven even if she does not offer obeisances to the brāhmaṇas and other superiors, and abstains from worshiping the demigods.1
