Chapter 24: Rāma Instructs Kausalyā
Text 2.24.34
प्रत्यागते महाभागे कृतार्थे चरितव्रते।
पितुरानृण्यतां प्राप्ते त्वयि लप्स्ये परं सुखम्॥
pratyāgate mahā-bhāge kṛtārthe carita-vrate
pitur ānṛṇyatāṁ prāpte tvayi lapsye paraṁ sukham
pratyāgate = return; mahā-bhāge = of great prosperity; kṛta-arthe = after accomplishing Your purposes; carita-vrate = and fulfilling Your vows; pituḥ ānṛṇyatām prāpte = and when Your father is no longer indebted [to anyone]; tvayi = when You; lapsye = I will attain; param = extreme; sukham = happiness.
I will attain extreme happiness when You of great prosperity return after accomplishing Your purposes and fulfilling Your vows, and when Your father is no longer indebted [to anyone].
