Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 29: Sītā Persists in Requesting Him to Take Her to the Forest
Text 2.29.2

ये त्वया कीर्तिता दोषा वने वस्तव्यतां प्रति।
गुणानित्येव तान्विद्धि तव स्नेहपुरस्कृतान्॥

ye tvayā kīrtitā doṣā vane vastavyatāṁ prati
guṇān ity eva tān viddhi tava sneha-puraskṛtān

ye = all; tvayā = You; kīrtitāḥ = have described; doṣāḥ = as disadvantages; vane = in the forest; vastavyatām prati = of living; guṇān = advantages [for me]; iti eva = are actually; tān = that; viddhi = know that; tava = for You; sneha-puraskṛtān = in my affection.

Know that all that You have described as disadvantages of living in the forest are actually advantages for me in my affection for You.

Sītā-devī considers that because of living with Her beloved husband, the difficulties Rāmacandra had noted in the previous chapter would be as pleasing as the sweet coos of the kokila cuckoos, sandalwood paste, wind from the Malaya Hills. This will be elaborated by her in the next chapter.

GLOSS. [The glossator reads sneha-puraskṛtā instead of sneha-puraskṛtān which indicates that] Sītā-devī was filled with love for Rāma.
