Chapter 30: Rāma Allows Sītā to Follow Him to the Forest
Text 2.30.17
न च तत्र गतः किञ्चिद्द्रष्टुमर्हसि विप्रियम्।
मत्कृते न च ते शोको न भविष्यामि दुर्भरा॥
na ca tatra gataḥ kiñcid draṣṭum arhasi vipriyam
mat-kṛte na ca te śoko na bhaviṣyāmi durbharā
na ca = not; tatra = to the forest; gataḥ = after going; kiñcit = any; draṣṭum = consider that; arhasi = You should; vipriyam = there would be trouble; mat-kṛte = because of me; na ca te = You won’t be in; śokaḥ = difficulty; na = not; bhaviṣyāmi = so I will be; durbharā = a burden on You.
After going to the forest, You should not consider that there would be any trouble because of me. You won’t be in difficulty. So I will not be a burden on You.
