Chapter 30: Rāma Allows Sītā to Follow Him to the Forest

न मातुर्न पितुस्तत्र स्मरिष्यामि न वेश्मनः।
आर्तवान्युपभुञ्जाना पुष्पाणि च फलानि च॥
na mātur na pitus tatra smariṣyāmi na veśmanaḥ
ārtavāny upabhuñjānā puṣpāṇi ca phalāni ca
na = neither; mātuḥ = my mother; na = nor; pituḥ = my father; tatra = [while I am] in the forest; smariṣyāmi = I will remember; na = nor; veśmanaḥ = my home; ārtavāni = of the season; upabhuñjānā = enjoying; puṣpāṇi ca = the flowers; phalāni = fruits; ca = and.
Enjoying the flowers and fruits of the season, I will neither remember my mother, nor my father, nor my home [while I am] in the forest.
