Chapter 31: Rāma Allows Lakṣmaṇa to Follow Him to the Forest
Text 2.31.19
तवैव तेजसा वीर भरतः पूजयिष्यति।
कौसल्यां च सुमित्रां च प्रयतो नात्र संशयः॥
tavaiva tejasā vīra bharataḥ pūjayiṣyati
kausalyāṁ ca sumitrāṁ ca prayato nātra saṁśayaḥ
tava = Your; eva = simply; tejasā = because of prowess; vīra = O hero; bharataḥ = Bharata; pūjayiṣyati = will worship; kausalyām ca = Kausalyā-devī; sumitrām = Sumitrā-devī; ca = and; prayataḥ = dutiful; na = there is no; atra = about this; saṁśayaḥ = doubt.
O hero, simply because of Your prowess, dutiful Bharata will worship Kausalyā-devī and Sumitrā-devī.1 There is no doubt about this.
1 Lakṣmaṇa implies that Bharata will worship Queens Kausalyā and Sumitrā simply by considering the unlimited prowess of Rāmacandra.
