Chapter 31: Rāma Allows Lakṣmaṇa to Follow Him to the Forest
Text 2.31.23
तदात्मभरणे चैव मम मातुस्तथैव च।
पर्याप्ता मद्विधानां च भरणाय यशस्विनी॥
tad ātma-bharaṇe caiva mama mātus tathaiva ca
paryāptā mad-vidhānāṁ ca bharaṇāya yaśasvinī
tat = so; ātma-bharaṇe ca eva = maintaining herself; mama = My; mātuḥ tathā eva ca = mother; paryāptā = is capable; mat-vidhānām ca = and those like Me; bharaṇāya1 yaśasvinī = the illustrious Queen Kausalyā.
So, the illustrious [Queen Kausalyā] is capable of maintaining herself, My mother and those like Me.
