Chapter 34: Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa and Sītā Meet Daśaratha
Text 2.34.34
मातरं मां च सम्पश्यन्वसेमामद्य शर्वरीम्।
तर्पितः सर्वकामैस्त्वं श्वः काले साधयिष्यसि॥
mātaraṁ māṁ ca sampaśyan vasemām adya śarvarīm
tarpitaḥ sarva-kāmais tvaṁ śvaḥ kāle sādhayiṣyasi
mātaram = Your mother; mām = me; ca = and; sampaśyan = looking over; vasa = be here; imām = just for this; adya = today; śarvarīm = night; tarpitaḥ = satisfied; sarva-kāmaiḥ = with all objects of pleasure; tvam = You; śvaḥ = tomorrow; kāle = early morning; sādhayiṣyasi = can accomplish Your task.
Looking over Your mother and me, be here today, just for this night. Satisfied with all objects of pleasure, You can accomplish Your task tomorrow early morning.
“You can accomplish Your task” means “You can go.”
