Chapter 34: Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa and Sītā Meet Daśaratha
Text 2.34.51
मा चोत्कण्ठां कृथा देव वने रंस्यामहे वयम्।
प्रशान्तहरिणाकीर्णे नानाशकुननादिते॥
mā cotkaṇṭhāṁ kṛthā deva vane raṁsyāmahe vayam
praśānta-hariṇākīrṇe nānā-śakuna-nādite
mā ca = don’t; utkaṇṭhām kṛthāḥ = long [for us] 4; deva = O king; vane = in the forest; raṁsyāmahe = will be happy; vayam = we; praśānta-hariṇa-ākīrṇe = it will be filled with peaceful deer; nānā-śakuna-nādite = and resound with chirps of several birds.
O king, don’t long [for us]. We will be happy in the forest. It will be filled with peaceful deer and resound with chirps of several birds.
