Chapter 39: Kausalyā Instructs Sītā
Text 2.39.27
करिष्ये सर्वमेवाहमार्या यदनुशास्ति माम्।
अभिज्ञास्मि यथा भर्तुर्वर्तितव्यं श्रुतं च मे॥
kariṣye sarvam evāham āryā yad anuśāsti mām
abhijñāsmi yathā bhartur vartitavyaṁ śrutaṁ ca me
kariṣye = will do; sarvam eva = everything; aham = I; āryā = the noble lady; yat = that; anuśāsti mām = orders; abhijñā = aware of; asmi = I am; yathā = how; bhartuḥ = towards my husband; vartitavyam = I should behave and serve Him; śrutam = learnt [about it] from my mother and father; ca = also; me = I have.
I will do everything that the noble lady orders. I am aware of how I should behave towards my husband and serve Him. I have also learnt [about it] from my mother and father.
