Chapter 46: Rāma Leaves the Brāhmaṇas to go to the Forest
Text 2.46.29
स सन्तीर्य महाबाहुः श्रीमाञ्शिवमकण्टकम्।
प्रापद्यत महामार्गमभयं भयदर्शिनाम्॥
sa santīrya mahā-bāhuḥ śrīmāñ śivam akaṇṭakam
prāpadyata mahā-mārgam abhayaṁ bhaya-darśinām
saḥ = the; santīrya = got down from the chariot and; mahā-bāhuḥ = mighty-armed; śrīmān = handsome; Rāma; śivam = that was auspicious; akaṇṭakam = devoid of thorns; prāpadyata = reached; mahā-mārgam = a main road; abhayam = and safe; bhaya-darśinām = from fearsome beasts.
The mighty-armed handsome Rāma got down from the chariot and reached a main road that was auspicious, devoid of thorns and safe from fearsome beasts.
Lord Śrī Rāma got down from the chariot that was standing in the river and reached the main road by foot.
