Chapter 46: Rāma Leaves the Brāhmaṇas to go to the Forest
Text 2.46.31
मुहूर्तं त्वरितं गत्वा निवर्तय रथं पुनः।
यथा न विद्युः पौरा मां तथा कुरु समाहितः॥
muhūrtaṁ tvaritaṁ gatvā nivartaya rathaṁ punaḥ
yathā na vidyuḥ paurā māṁ tathā kuru samāhitaḥ
muhūrtam = for a muhūrta; tvaritam = quickly; gatvā = go and then; nivartaya = bring; ratham = the chariot; punaḥ = back; yathā = in such a way that; na vidyuḥ = don’t understand; paurāḥ = the residents of the city; mām = to Me; tathā kuru samāhitaḥ = do it attentively.
“Quickly go for a muhūrta and then bring back the chariot to Me. Do it attentively in such a way that the residents of the city don’t understand [that I have gone to the forest].”
