तौ सम्प्रयुक्तं तु रथं समास्थितौ तदा ससीतौ रघुवंशवर्धनौ।
प्रचोदयामास ततस्तुरङ्गमान्स सारथिर्येन पथा तपोवनम्॥
tau samprayuktaṁ tu rathaṁ samāsthitau
tadā sasītau raghu-vaṁśa-vardhanau
pracodayām āsa tatas turaṅgamān
sa sārathir yena pathā tapo-vanam
tau = the two; samprayuktam tu = that had arrived; ratham = the chariot; samāsthitau = sat on; tadā = then; sasītau = with Sītā-devī; raghu-vaṁśa-vardhanau = enhancers of the dynasty of Raghu; pracodayām āsa = spurred to go; tataḥ = then; turaṅgamān = the horses; saḥ = the; sārathiḥ = charioteer; yena pathā = by the path; tapaḥ-vanam = leading to a hermitage forest.
Then the two enhancers of the dynasty of Raghu sat on the chariot that had arrived with Sītā-devī. Then the charioteer spurred the horses to go by the path leading to a hermitage forest.
