धिगस्तु खलु निद्रां तां ययापहृतचेतसः।
नाद्य पश्यामहे रामं पृथूरस्कं महाभुजम्॥
dhig astu khalu nidrāṁ tāṁ yayāpahṛta-cetasaḥ
nādya paśyāmahe rāmaṁ pṛthūraskaṁ mahā-bhujam
dhik astu khalu nidrām tām = fie on sleep; yayā = because of which; apahṛta-cetasaḥ = we lost our awareness; na = not; adya = now; paśyāmahe = and we do see; rāmam = Rāma; pṛthu-uraskam = the broad-chested; mahā-bhujam = and mighty-armed.
Fie on sleep because of which we lost our awareness and we do not see the broad-chested and mighty-armed Rāma now!1
1]. Because they were pure devotee of the Lord, it is clear that this sleep was caused by Lord Rāmacandra Himself. It was not caused by the external potency of the Lord that causes the conditioned souls to identify themselves with their gross or subtle bodies.
