Chapter 48: The Ladies in Ayodhyā Lament
Text 2.48.5

नष्टं दृष्ट्वा नाभ्यनन्दन्विपुलं वा धनागमम्।
पुत्रं प्रथमजं लब्ध्वा जननी नाभ्यनन्दत॥

naṣṭaṁ dṛṣṭvā nābhyanandan vipulaṁ vā dhanāgamam
putraṁ prathamajaṁ labdhvā jananī nābhyanandata

naṣṭam = jewels and other valuables that they had lost a long time back; dṛṣṭvā = upon seeing; na = not; abhyanandan = they were joyous; vipulam = extensive; = or; dhana-āgamam = upon attaining wealthy treasures; putram = a son; prathamajam = as her first-born child; labdhvā = upon obtaining; jananī = a mother; na = not; abhyanandata = was delighted.

They were not joyous upon seeing jewels and other valuables that they had lost a long time back or upon attaining extensive wealthy treasures. A mother was not delighted upon obtaining a son as her first-born child.
