Chapter 50: The Meeting of Rāma and Guha
Text 2.50.31
सुमन्त्रोऽप्यवतीर्याथ मोचयित्वा हयोत्तमान्।
वृक्षमूलगतं राममुपतस्थे कृताञ्जलिः॥
sumantro ’py avatīryātha mocayitvā hayottamān
vṛkṣa-mūla-gataṁ rāmam upatasthe kṛtāñjaliḥ
sumantraḥ = Sumantra; api = also; avatīrya = got down and; atha = then; mocayitvā = released; haya-uttamān = the fine horses [from the chariot]; vṛkṣa-mūla-gatam = who was [sitting] under the tree; rāmam = Rāma; upatasthe = he came before; kṛta-añjaliḥ = with his palms joined in supplication.
Sumantra also got down and released the fine horses [from the chariot]. With his palms joined in supplication, he then came before Rāma who was [sitting] under the tree.
