Chapter 50: The Meeting of Rāma and Guha
Text 2.50.46
एते हि दयिता राज्ञः पितुर्दशरथस्य मे।
एतैः सुविहितैरश्वैर्भविष्याम्यहमर्चितः॥
ete hi dayitā rājñaḥ pitur daśarathasya me
etaiḥ suvihitair aśvair bhaviṣyāmy aham arcitaḥ
ete = these horses; hi = are actually; dayitāḥ = dear; rājñaḥ = to King; pituḥ = father; daśarathasya = Daśaratha; me = My; etaiḥ = when these; suvihitaiḥ = are well-fed and nourished; aśvaiḥ = horses; bhaviṣyāmi = will be; aham = I; arcitaḥ = honored.
These horses are actually dear to King Daśaratha, My father. I will be honored when these horses are well-fed and nourished.
