Chapter 51: Guha and Lakṣmaṇa Converse at Night
Text 2.51.18
विनष्टे नृपतौ पश्चात्कौसल्या विनशिष्यति।
अनन्तरं च मातापि मम नाशमुपैष्यति॥
vinaṣṭe nṛpatau paścāt kausalyā vinaśiṣyati
anantaraṁ ca mātāpi mama nāśam upaiṣyati
vinaṣṭe = perishes; nṛpatau = the king; paścāt = after; kausalyā = Queen Kausalyā; vinaśiṣyati = will perish; anantaram ca = then; mātā = mother; api = also; mama = My; nāśam = destruction; upaiṣyati = will attain.
“After the king perishes, Queen Kausalyā will perish. Then My mother will also attain destruction.
