Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.64
मम प्रियार्थं राज्ञश्च सरथस्त्वं पुरीं व्रज।
सन्दिष्टश्चासि यानर्थांस्तांस्तान्ब्रुयास्तथा तथा॥
mama priyārthaṁ rājñaś ca sarathas tvaṁ purīṁ vraja
sandiṣṭaś cāsi yān arthāṁs tāṁs tān brūyās tathā tathā
mama = My; priya-artham = for pleasure; rājñaḥ = [the pleasure] of the king; ca = and; sarathaḥ = on the chariot; tvam purīm vraja = go to the city; sandiṣṭaḥ ca asi = I have told you [to convey]; yān arthān = whatever; tān tān = to those particular persons; brūyāḥ tathā tathā = convey.
For My pleasure and [the pleasure] of the king, go on the chariot to the city. Convey whatever I have told you [to convey] to those particular persons.
