Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.77
अथारुरोह तेजस्वी स्वयं लक्ष्मणपूर्वजः।
ततो निषादाधिपतिर्गुहो ज्ञातीनचोदयत्॥
athāruroha tejasvī svayaṁ lakṣmaṇa-pūrvajaḥ
tato niṣādādhipatir guho jñātīn acodayat
atha = then; āruroha = got on the boat; tejasvī = the powerful Rāmacandra; svayam = personally; lakṣmaṇa-pūrvajaḥ = Lakṣmaṇa’s elder brother; tataḥ = then; niṣāda-adhipatiḥ = the ruler of the niṣādas; guhaḥ = Guha; jñātīn = his relatives; acodayat = ordered.
Then the powerful Rāmacandra, Lakṣmaṇa’s elder brother, personally got on the boat. Then Guha, the ruler of the niṣādas, ordered his friends.
Guha ordered his relatives, “Take this boat to the other bank.”
