Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.79
आचम्य च यथाशास्त्रं नदीं तां सह सीतया।
प्राणमत्प्रीतिसंहृष्टो लक्ष्मणश्चामितप्रभः॥
ācamya ca yathā-śāstraṁ nadīṁ tāṁ saha sītayā
prāṇamat prīti-saṁhṛṣṭo lakṣmaṇaś cāmita-prabhaḥ
ācamya ca = having performed ācamana; yathā-śāstram = in accordance with the scriptures; nadīm = river; tām = unto the; saha sītayā = Sītā-devī; prāṇamat = offered obeisances; prīti-saṁhṛṣṭaḥ = Rāma with happiness and delight; lakṣmaṇaḥ = Lakṣmaṇa; ca = and; amita-prabhaḥ = of limitless luster.
Having performed ācamana, Rāma with happiness and delight, Sītā-devī and Lakṣmaṇa of limitless luster offered obeisances unto the river in accordance with the scriptures.
This is an elaboration of the previous verse.
